The Bite Magazine - Summer 2012 - Issue 5
bite dessert containing two mini pots, these treats are the perfect little indulgence that won’t affect the waistline. They are also great to share with your partner or friend after a hard day of work, or whilst snuggled up on the sofa watching a film. So what and who is behind the brains of these sweet treats? Ed Culf, the Marketing Director at Häagen-Dazs is pretty chuffed with this new ice cream invention. He said,‘Häagen-Dazs is constantly striving for the ultimate ice cream experience for our customers. Secret Sensations is a genuine innovation in ice cream, as combining luxurious ice cream and a rich sauce has never been done before.’ This new and exciting product from the premium ice cream brand was introduced to the world with its Launch Party held at the nightspot, The Box in May this year. The night was a complete success with celebrity attendees including ice cream lovers Daisy Lowe, Matt Smith, Donna Air and Tamsin Egerton. As the celebrities partied into the night, the drinks were flowing and so was the chocolate. Guests were spoilt with endless amounts of the new ice cream as well as cocktails based on the new chocolate fondant and crème brûlee. When Reuben Mattus first invented Häagen-Dazs on his family dairy farm in 1961 he could never have foreseen the company’s future success. In 1987 the doors to their first shop opened in Leicester Square and now, 25 years later, they own 650 shops in 54 countries. The company is still thriving and has gained worldwide success with their traditional ice cream making techniques and unique flavours. In today’s society it is great to be able to enjoy a naughty treat once in a while with the benefits of natural ingredients. The brand’s most famous and well known flavour is Strawberry Cheesecake, however they are not afraid to experiment with a variety of flavours such as chocolate peanut butter, dulce de leche, rum raisin, vanilla swiss almond and spiced caramel biscuit. In addition to these flavours Häagen-Dazs have also introduced a new Mint Leaves and Chocolate product in March 2012. This new flavour consists of a smooth mint ice cream, real mint leaves and delicious chocolate fudge pieces. It is also the first mint flavoured retail offering available within the luxury ice cream market. These enchanting ice creams ooze in elegance and, with high class quality ingredients, are worth every penny. While we are all trying to slim down and tone up for our summer holidays, we must admit that these small treats are completely worth being a little bit naughty for. The top quality ice cream combined with a silky smooth centre is sure to make for a perfect evening in. www.haagen-dazs.com Images courtesy of Haagen-Dazs
